Living Fully

new plant

The best possible way to prepare for tomorrow is to concentrate with all your intelligence, all your enthusiasm, on doing today’s work superbly today. That is the only possible way you can prepare for the future.

~~~~ Dale Carnegie
To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children;
to earn the appreciation of honest criticism
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
to appreciate beauty and find the best in others;
to leave this world a bit better whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch, a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived—
this is to have succeeded. ~~~~Ralph Waldo Emerson If you are not in the process of becoming the person you want to be, you are automatically engaged in becoming the person you don’t want to be. ~~~~Dale Carnegie
The dying have much to teach about living fully.
Bonnie Ware is a musician, teacher and songwriter who worked for many years in palliative care (the care of dying patients).
She is the author of the full-length memoir, “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying – A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing”.
The top five regrets described by dying patients were:
1.      I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2.      I wish I didn’t work so hard.
3.      I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4.      I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5.      I wish that I had let myself be happier.
